You don’t have to leave the Park to find plenty to do. With the River Thames right on our doorstep, there’s lots to enjoy during your stay. Bring your own paddleboard or canoe, or hire one on the Park, and explore this beautiful stretch of the River Thames. We have direct river access and a slipway suitable for launching paddleboards, canoes and small boats, so getting onto the water couldn’t be easier. You can find out more on our Paddleboarding and Canoeing page.
Off the water you can have riverside picnics, walk our Nature Trail, visit out playground, challenge the family to a game of table tennis or simply find a quiet spot beside the river and watch the boats go by. You can also walk our Nature Trail and try to find our ten Hurberts around the Park.

Whether you’re an experienced paddler or simply fancy trying something different on your holiday, getting out on the river is a wonderful way to explore the local area. Paddle at your own pace and enjoy a completely different view of Hurley.
It’s also a great way to spot some of the local wildlife, with plenty to look out for both on the water and along the riverbanks – and don’t forget to look up for the red kites that are regularly seen soaring above Hurley.

Our children’s play area gives younger guests plenty of opportunities to climb, swing, explore and have fun in the fresh air.
With a play tower, swings, springers and other equipment to discover, it’s a great place for children to make new friends while grown-ups enjoy a well-earned sit down nearby.

It’s a great way for children – and adventurous grown-ups – to burn off some energy and see if they can make it all the way around.
The only question is: can you complete it without touching the ground?
Grab a football, gather the family and head over for a kickabout on our football pitch.
Whether you’re practising your penalties, organising a family match or simply having a bit of fun, there’s plenty of space to enjoy a game during your stay.
Alternatively pick up a bat and challenge your friends or family to a game of outdoor table tennis. Bats are available in the shop.
Friendly knockabout or fiercely competitive tournament – we’ll leave that part up to you.
Sometimes the best holiday activity is doing very little at all.

Bring a blanket, something nice to eat and drink and simply watch the world go by. There’s always something happening on the river, from paddleboards and canoes to rowing boats and cruisers passing through this beautiful stretch of the Thames.
And if the sun isn’t shining? You’re in England – bring a jumper!
Take a walk along our self-guided Nature Trail and discover some of the wildlife that makes its home around Hurley Riverside Park.
Along the way, our information boards introduce you to river wildlife, rabbits, red kites, minibeasts and more.
Younger explorers can also pick up a free Nature Trail quiz from Reception and see how much they can discover along the way.
Some unusual little characters have made Hurley Riverside Park their home. Our Hurberts are hiding around the Park waiting to be discovered. Keep your eyes peeled while you’re exploring and see how many you can find during your holiday.
Happy Hurbert hunting!
Bring your bikes and explore Hurley and the surrounding Thames Valley on two wheels. With beautiful countryside all around, cycling is a great way to get out and discover more of the local area during your stay.
Start by exploring the lanes around Hurley Village before venturing further into the surrounding Berkshire countryside. You can enjoy a gentle family ride, stop off at a local pub or café along the way, or plan a longer route and spend a few hours discovering some of the villages and countryside around Hurley, Marlow and Henley-on-Thames.
Whether you’re a keen cyclist or just fancy a leisurely ride with the family, getting out on two wheels is a wonderful way to see another side of Hurley and the beautiful Thames Valley countryside.
There’s nearly always something worth photographing at Hurley.

Sometimes the simplest things can keep children entertained for the longest – and a few games are always worth packing for your holiday.
Bringing a favourite board game from home, a pack of cards or a set of boules is a great idea, particularly when you want to enjoy a little quiet time together on your pitch or beside the river. You don’t need anything complicated either – a simple game of cards can soon turn into a fiercely competitive family tournament!
If you’ve forgotten to bring anything with you, don’t worry. We sell a selection of games and other activities in the Park Shop, so you can always pick something up during your stay.
Every summer, Mikron Theatre Company brings live theatre to Hurley, performing in the wonderful surroundings of our riverfront beside the River Thames.
Mikron’s annual visit has become a much-loved part of the summer at Hurley Riverside Park, offering the chance to enjoy professional live theatre in a setting that’s a little different from your usual theatre experience. There are no rows of seats or grand auditorium here – just the river, the open air and a relaxed atmosphere beside the Thames, with Mikron touring Britain’s waterways by narrowboat
Bring along a chair or picnic blanket, find yourself a comfortable spot on the riverfront and settle down to enjoy the performance. Why not bring a picnic and something to drink too, and make an evening of it while boats pass along the river and the sun begins to set over Hurley?
